(UVM Promise x Serenity Anna Rose)

Foaled in 1980 at Cedar Creek Farm, Elegance was the only cross of the exceptional brood mare Serenity Anna Rose with UVM Promise. Ellie was a tall, refined three year old when she was purchased to be the foundation broodmare for Blue Gable Farm.

Ellie was shown to several park saddle championships by Rick Davis over two years. She was animated, not always predictable, and great fun to watch. She got a lot from her famous father Promise, with size from Anna Rose.

Then she came home to pass on her exceptional and unusual bloodlines. Her foals have been an education - entertaining and highly individual. Most have succeeded as show horses and/ or breeding horses. Several have died too young, and Rocky retired before her show career got going, due to injury. All were handsome, talented foals.

Ellie runs the barn from the first stall on the left, as she has for almost 20 years, and woe to the youngster who stops in front of her door. She does not harbor any desire to run the herd when outdoors. Her job is to just be eat and be elegant. "Scratch my withers, will you, please.?"
