Shauna came to Rick Davis' Stable in Indiana as part of Lazy Acres' dispersal sale. She was not broke and certainly not handled often. She had (still has) a big eye and beautiful head - and a snorty, wide-eyed approach to life. My first brood mare, the night she arrived in Wisconsin she was so vivacious that I wondered what I had gotten into.
Shauna is now 25 and we have long since made peace, although she will still not get caught without a discussion. Her first foal, and the first born at Blue Gable Farm, showed no Morgan "knee". I wondered what went wrong. Since then it has become obvious that the extension and big push that her kids inherit have made them wonderful sport horses. And they are pretty, curious to a fault, and the first to greet you and to make demands. Their owners have all reported how much each one is loved.

Tales and pictures of the Shauna kids follow.
Babe.
GABLE'S GLACIER BAY was Shauna's first daughter. She inherited her dam's roadster trot. Her barn name "Baby" was changed to "Babe" when the next foal showed up. We learned to drive together - both absolute novices. She gave 4H kids and others safe hunt seat rides and now may be seen trail-riding in the south Kettle Moraine Forest.
Presto.
NICOLET NATIONAL, Shauna's 1st son, was named after a beautiful Wisconsin forest. He was big, pretty, and became a cherished show (huntseat & English pleasure) and trail horse as long as he lived.
Beany.
BANNED IN BOSTON, Shauna's 2nd son, was purchased as a weanling by Judy Gassmann. This Wham Bam son has had a full life. He has shown in hand, learned saddleseat, then jumping and dressage, and is still a valued member of their farm family.
Brave.
BRAVE NEW WORLD, Shauna's 3rd son. A beautiful, big colt, Brave resembled a Mack truck before he started to stretch out. He was a strong 2 year old who, when lounging, left me watching his dust more then once.

GABLE'S FRANKLY MY DEAR, Shauna's 4th son and first foal of the golden CP/Shauna cross is tall, handsome and steady. He evidenced a desire to jump early, and went on to a successful stint as an eventing horse. On a straight-away, stretched out, he is a blast to ride
Beauty was the most agreeable mare to train. She has that gorgeous head and a chunky, morgan body, but she is a wonderful athlete. She returned to Blue Gable Farm several years ago and, in 2006, has become a member of our permanent family.
GABLE'S WALK IN THE PARK.
Walk, the last of Shauna's foals, was very correct and as pretty as her sister. She has matured into a more refined copy of her dam. And, like Shauna, eating and being a leader are important to her. She will continue a jumping career in Virginina in 2006. We're expecting ribbons.Learn more.
